Best Invitation

Arlene Segal Designs North Miami Beach, Florida A custom bat mitzvah invitation was themed "Butterfly Kisses." An extravagant, handmade butterfly net held a wrapped box that contained each invitation. The invitation was a jewel-studded, purple tulle and velvet butterfly. A mime dressed as a flower released 13 butterflies, as each guest was handed the butterfly net containing his or her invitation.

BK Design Boston A 40th birthday invitation incorporated the four decades of the client's life and an icon representing her childhood: the Barbie doll. The invitation was a three-dimensional box containing a "Bonny Doll," named after the honoree, complete with fashion outfits of the decades. The RSVP card invited each guest to dress in costume.

BK Design Boston This bar mitzvah invitation was designed to set a fun tone and inspire guests to wear creative, winter-themed outfits. A logo featuring a snow-topped mountain and the slogan "Winter Bash by Brad" were embroidered onto a polar-fleece headband. Three hang tags were attached to the band with a clear retail tag, giving the impression that Brad had his own line of clothes. The interior cards contained invitation copy. The polar-fleece invitation was mailed in a clear plastic container complete with ice skating stamps.

Ridgewells Bethesda, Maryland This statement on the envelope set the tone for an event at Ridgewells: "We've been dressing tables in world class fashion for years. Imagine what we can do with 20 pouty models!" The invitation featured layers of table linens. The event, "Ridgewells on the Runway," was a unique style show that featured tabletop and event fashion instead of high-fashion dress.
