Hargrove Wins 2012 DNC Event Services Contract

Event and exhibit services company Hargrove announced yesterday that it has been awarded contracts to provide services for the 2012 Democratic National Convention, scheduled Sept. 3-6 in Charlotte, N.C. Hargrove will manage the exposition and event services portion of the convention which is expected to attract approximately 35,000 guests, including 15,000 members of the media.

Specific elements of Hargrove’s convention responsibilities include project management, event scheduling, design, decor, temporary build-outs, fabrication and graphics as well as rentals and furnishings to staff and members of the media using the Time Warner Arena and Charlotte Convention Center, the Lanham, Md.-based company said in a statement. Hargrove is included on the Special Events' "50 Top Event Planning Companies" list.

“Our goal was to select firms that represent the best of the Carolinas and the diversity of America," said DNCC chief executive officer Steve Kerrigan. "Given Hargrove’s resources and experience, they are the ideal partner to provide event and exposition services to the convention."

“We could not be more proud to support this extraordinary event," said Carla Hargrove McGill, Hargrove president and chief operating officer. "The DNCC has assembled an all-star team to ensure that not only the DNCC shines, but the city of Charlotte as well. We will do everything we can to ensure the DNCC’s success.”
