Every year, our sister publications group MeetingsNet gives a shout-out to the movers and shakers who are changing the face of the meetings industry. Here's who made the list for 2016:
In the Changemaker list’s early days, we focused our search on corporate meeting managers, especially those making strides to move beyond logistics and develop strategic meetings management programs. Beginning last year, we broadened our scope to include meeting professionals of all stripes, including association planners, consultants, educators, and suppliers—anyone creating meaningful change in their organizations and in our industry.
This year, the honor goes to some well-known faces, such as Kevin Iwamoto, “The Godfather of SMM”; Carol Krugman, whose nomination to the Convention Industry Council’s Hall of Leaders was announced since our profile was written; and Fiona Pelham, the 2016 global chair of Meeting Professionals International (read why she thinks meetings have a role in solving the Syrian refugee crisis); as well as super achievers who fly under the radar, like Tracy Petrillo, EdD, CAE, at Educause, who’s passionate about alternative credentialing and micro-learning, or Storey Pryor who’s team at Isagenix International is handling 64 events a year, up from 12 two years ago … MeetingsNet
