News this week includes a new role for Carla Felicella at Destination Canada and Laurie Knapp taking on a big job at AlliedPRA

Carla Felicella (in photo) has joined Vancouver, British Columbia-based Destination Canada as global event strategist.

San Diego-based AlliedPRA, included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs” list, has named Laurie Knapp executive vice president of global sales and marketing, overseeing strategic global sales and marketing for the AlliedPRA system. Allied also announced that it has acquired Destination Services Corp., a leading destination management firm covering the Rocky Mountain region of North America.

Detroit-based Display Group has named Jackie Dombrowski as a marketing specialist.

San Francisco-based Giants Enterprises will host Global Meetings Industry Day on April 6 at AT&T Park, when 10 Bay Area events and meetings associations will join to network and advocate for the industry. For more information or to register, click here.

Christie Lites, with operations across the U.S. and Canada, has announced the opening of its first overseas office, located in Coventry, England. Staffing the new UK office are operations manager Andy Mitchinson and account reps Roy Hunt and Andy Strachan.
