Special events business news this week includes a new office for Fast Traffic and a new brand for PPC

Fast Traffic, the New York-based sports, entertainment, and event management and consulting firm founded by former NHL and NFL event executive Frank Supovitz (in photo above), has announced the launch of Fast Traffic Australia. Based in Sydney, Fast Traffic Australia will be led by event management veteran Danielle (Dani) Heptonstall, who directed the National Rugby League’s event business from 1999 to early 2016.

Boston-based PPC Event Services, included on the latest Special Events “30 Top Rental Companies,” unveiled its new brand yesterday--Peak Event Services--under which big rental players Peterson Party Center, Rentals Unlimited, Table Toppers of Newton, and Reserve are unified into one integrated event service brand. Combining decades of expertise and relationships built by its former brand properties, Peak is poised for significant growth in 2017, the company says. Reserve, as creative design and styling provider, will maintain its identity operating as a division of Peak Event Services.

The Special Event Co. of Raleigh, N.C., has announced a new partnership with Raleigh-based Travel Management Partners, a corporate travel management company. The new partnership gives The Special Event Company’s clients access to TMP’s range of cutting-edge corporate travel services, while TMP’s clients will benefit from The Special Event Company’s meeting and event services, including logistics planning, production management, and creative services.

Jodi Collen, CSEP, has been promoted to senior director of university events at Augsburg College, Minneapolis.

CORT Events has launched a first-ever program offering 3D space planning technology free of charge to its clients with its integration of a proprietary custom version of the Social Tables space planner on CORT’s website. Social Tables is integrated into Cortevents.com, allowing clients to design their event in 2D, view and share in 3D, and automatically request quotes for CORT products based on their design.

Zingerman’s Cornman Farms, a working farm and private event venue located just outside of Ann Arbor, Mich., has launched a new product offering for private dining and events. Its private dining and events packages can accommodate various celebrations from rehearsal dinners and anniversary parties to graduation receptions and company board dinners. In addition, the venue has named Forte Belanger to its list of exclusive catering partners that will be available for private events at Cornman Farms.

New York-based event rental company Please B Seated has announced the hiring of Laura Longo as an event specialist.

Event services provider GES has announced the addition of Kristin Sedlacek as regional manager of sales support based in GES’ Chicago client care center.

MPI and conference center association IACC have announced a five-year global partnership, where the two associations will share event and learning platforms, including education delivered at annual conferences, regional events, and online as well as research initiatives.
