Special event business news this week includes promotions at Event Source and more growth for CE Rental.

Cleveland-based JBK Group, dba Event Source and Panache Party Rental, has promoted Jeremy Halaska to vice president of operations and Debbie Halkovics to vice president of sales and marketing.

CE Rental, based in Raleigh, N.C., has announced its third acquisition since partnering with investment company Dubin Clark, with the recapitalization of Skyline Tent Co., with operations in Charlottesville, Va., and Charleston, S.C. "The partnership between CE Rental and Skyline Tent Company greatly expands our strategy of being the premier full-service rental provider on the East Coast," said James Auerbach, senior vice president at CE Rental. "We are excited to leverage the exclusive tabletop and tenting offerings of both CE Rental and Skyline in all of our existing markets and beyond.”

La Randa Mayes has been promoted to event services manager at the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington. She is a member of the Special Events Advisory Board.

Mary Patton has joined big DMC AlliedPRA, included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs,” as global sales director in the Chicago region.

MCI, headquartered in Geneva, has launched the MCI Experience, designed to offer innovative experience marketing programs. The division will be led by Kim Myhre as managing director.
