Who’s News in Special Events for Oct. 19, 2017

Special event news this week includes a big charitable donation from Town and Country Event Rentals and a new venture from big structure rental company Arena Americas.

Big party rental company Town and Country Event Rentals, included on the latest Special Events “30 Top Rental Companies,” has donated $13,090 to the American Red Cross on behalf of Hurricane Harvey victims. The donation came as the result of the company’s pledge to give $10 for every order—regardless of size—placed during September.

Arena Americas, based in Oak Creek, Wisc., has announced the launch of its Well Dressed Tables division, which will operate in the Milwaukee and Chicago markets. Well Dressed Tables will offer tables, chairs, linens, tabletop items, kitchen/catering equipment, dance floors, and meetings and trade show equipment.

Mark Burkhalter has been named director of food and beverage at the Westin Nashville in Nashville, Tenn.-

Sue Holle has joined Lanham, Md.-based Hargrove as a director of national accounts. Hargrove is included on the latest Special Events “50 Top Event Companies” list.

Big British caterer and logistics company Global Infusion Group will handle catering for the seventh leg of the 2017 Extreme Sailing Series in San Diego Oct. 19-22.  GIG will be ensuring all the race teams, their support crews, media, organizational staff and hundreds of VIP spectators receive top-class food and beverages during the four days of competition.

Lorraine Thorne has been appointed venue sales manager at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London.

Detroit-based Display Group has named Lindsay Sowter as sales coordinator and Todd Villeneuve as an account manager.

Anthony Endy has joined Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Solvang, Calif., as executive chef.

Fernando Duran has partnered with emcee company Event Host Live, with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Las Vegas.

Campbell Tent and Party Rentals of Knoxville, Tenn., has been acquired by All Occasions Party Rentals, also located in Knoxville.  Fred Hageman of Rental Acquisitions advised Campbell Tent in the transaction.

Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Teneo Hospitality Group, which represents more than 300 independent and luxury branded hotels, resorts and DMCs, has named Meghan Kelleher as director of sales northeast.
