The Special Event 2018 kicked off in New Orleans yesterday with a rich mix of education, exhibits and events.

The Opening General Session started with a lively performance by dance/acrobatic troupe Eclipse (in photo at top) followed by the comedy of Greg Schwem. Attendees could also visit education sessions covering everything from design inspiration to event best practices. A special session by security expert Mike Surrick (in photo above) trained attendees  how to address the threat of an active shooter at their event.

The day ended with the TSE Wedding and Event Showcase at The Chicory.

The show continues today with The Hot List, Leadership Lunch, exhibits, education and the Gala Awards.
