Classic Party Rentals Names Mata President, CEO

Los Angeles-based event rental powerhouse Classic Party Rentals announced today that Pedro Mata has taken the post of president and chief executive officer. Mata, who has served as interim CEO since September, will run the company out of its Los Angeles headquarters. Longtime executive Mike Bjornstad will continue to serve as chief operating officer, the company said.

"Working with the company's leadership team over the past six months, I have had a great opportunity to see the potential of Classic Party Rentals, and frankly, I fell in love with the business," Mata said in a statement. "Our team and our foundation as the nation’s leading full-service special event tabletop and tenting company make the future very exciting. As the recovery of our industry continues, Classic will continue to demonstrate our leadership role providing innovative products and services throughout our nationwide network.”

MATA'S "FINE RESULTS"

Terry Daniels, Chairman of Quad-C Management Inc., Classic Party Rentals' private equity sponsors, made the announcement regarding Mata's permanent appointment today. "While serving as interim president and CEO, Pedro has developed and implemented a plan that has already resulted in fine results across our national network," Daniels said in a statement. "In addition, he and the Classic team have solidified the foundation for continued growth, operational excellence and industry leadership. We are thrilled he has accepted the position."

Mata served on the board of directors at Classic Party Rentals when he was asked to step in as interim CEO in September upon the resignation of John Campanelli, who led much of the company's aggressive growth.

Classic Party Rentals operates close to 40 locations including such major markets as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas.
