What's in Store for Wedding Decor

Look up, look down, look all around: Wedding ‘wow’ is where you find it!

For most weddings, lovely linens and fabulous flowers are givens. But there's plenty of unique, personalized and very pretty wedding decor to be found beyond the tabletop.

THE PRODUCT: GYPSY FAIRE TENTS

WHAT'S TO LOVE: Event Rentals Unlimited's new Gypsy Faire tents — available through the Atlanta-based company's partnership with the Gypsy Faire manufacturer — are both structure and decor wrapped in one colorful package. Their ease of setup and range of sizes — from 10 by 10 feet to 22 by 34 feet — make them suitable for installation right in your client's backyard, on the deck and even indoors.

The tents create distinct vignettes that beckon wedding guests to lounge, dine or sip. And while these decorative structures won't protect guests against a downpour, their rich color combinations, billowy curtains and snazzy valances create drama and excitement for mild-weather wedding fêtes.

Crafted in India, the alluring ceiling liners are available in a variety of pretty patterns — eliminating the need for swagging and pricey ceiling treatments. And many liner styles are accented with metallic stamps or tiny mirrors, which reflect candlelight and “really set the mood for an intimate event,” notes Kelly Treadway of Event Rentals Unlimited.

THE PRODUCT: HAND-PICKED VINTAGE RENTALS

WHAT'S TO LOVE: Husband-and-wife team Katie and Jovan Blineau spent the year leading up to their nuptials sourcing vintage furniture, props, decor and tableware for their rental operation. Wedding planners and couples alike will find a trove of treasures in Unearthed Vintage's inventory, which includes 13 farmhouse tables made from 1800s Tennessee barns (another 10 will be added in November), tufted sofas, wingback chairs, vintage dressers and enough mismatched china to serve a wedding of 300-plus guests.

While vintage weddings continue to create buzz, vintage “is not a trend,” says Katie Blineau. “It is a style of wedding that is timeless and here to stay.”

THE PRODUCT: HAND-PAINTED UNITY RUNNERS

WHAT'S TO LOVE: Designed to be placed where the bride and groom stand to say their vows, perpendicular to the ceremony aisle, hand-painted unity runners from Customized Wedding Creations of Hamilton, N.J., put the happy couple's monogram right at their feet. The runners, which measure 5 feet long by 45 inches wide, come in 76 colors and feature a 2-by-3-foot monogram logo or custom design at the center. A great way to add an elegant decor touch to the focal point of the ceremony space, the unity runner also looks great in post-I-do pics.
