This corporate event had a classic goal--team-building--but the event team gave it a classic spin, using a wonderful vintage vibe. The 33 event guests were broken into eight teams. Here, lunch on the croquet field.
The official race starts with a game of 'speed' croquet on the grounds of Meadowood resort. Note that guests are dressed in elegant whites.
Upon completion of this first challenge, the teams were given old leather suitcases filled with seven wrapped packages. These packages contained vintage objects, which served as clues to the destinations of the remaining challenges.
The clues, numbered one thru seven, corresponded to the order of the team’s particular race route. Package #1 contained the clue to their first destination; package #7 contained the clue to their last destination. Upon solving their clues the teams directed their driver to the revealed destinations. Once they arrived at each destination, each team had to look for a Race marker/mailbox, which contained instructions, (in the form of an old fashioned telegram), explaining the challenge at hand. Upon successfully completing each challenge, the teams returned to their cars, and opened up the next package in their suitcases. They continued the race in this fashion, for a total of seven race stops.
Enclosed with their instructions, each team also received a Challenge Verification Card. They had this card stamped by the attending Challenge Coordinator along each stage of the route. These cards were collected and checked at the end of the race. Any team failing to acquire a stamp from all seven stops was disqualified. Losing a card was also cause for disqualification
Guests were transported to the various challenges in vintage cars complete with drivers.
