A closer look. For the dinner, a real-time video feed to the prep kitchens made guests feel as though they were right in the middle of the action. As a surprise twist, award-winning Boston chef Jeremy Sewall delighted guests with a live cooking demonstration onstage.  

In contrast to the design of the 2016 event, which featured the look of manicured gardens, this year's event features the rustic look of Tuscany.

The team from Tyger Productions takes the Italian theme of the 2017 Friends of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute "Dinner with Friends" gala to the limit, creating an elegant evening that epitomizes "la dolce vita."

Live rosemary plants add color, shape and scent. After the event, all centerpieces were donated to Power of Flowers Project, a nonprofit that re-purposes floral and plants to share with patients at nursing homes, Meals on Wheels clients, disabled veterans, homeless mothers, and community meal sites.

The table design features an interplay of green rosemary, white begonias and yellow lemons.
