Hot Off the Presses

ServSafe® and the National Restaurant Association released an update to its free suite of COVID-19 training modules. The new video, ServSafe Operating Guidance: COVID-19 Precautions, combines content from original COVID-19 Delivery, Takeout, and Reopening modules and includes updated best practices from the latest COVID-19 Operating Guidance.  

The free training video covers: 

  • Encouraging vaccinations for employees
  • Best practices on indoor dining, ventilation, mask use, and social distancing 
  • Guidelines for hand washing, health monitoring and testing, and policies for ill or exposed employees 
  • Operational guidelines for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting 
  • COVID-19 safety procedures for pickup and delivery  

Upon completion of the course, users can download a Record of Training PDF that can be saved or printed. The videos are available in English and Spanish. 


Bizzabo, the Event Experience OS, will announce its third acquisition in five months with a cutting-edge solution for creating, producing and broadcasting virtual, in-person and hybrid events. Along with the acquisition, the company is introducing a new video production suite, enabling Event Experience Leaders to create content and video for attendees and presenters that blends in a seamless TV-like experience.

The ASM Global-managed Dayton Convention Center (DCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelli Donahoe, CMP as the new General Manager. Donahoe will play a critical role in supporting the DCC’s continual growth and hospitality leadership in the Miami Valley Region. Donahoe brings a wealth of experience and industry expertise to her new role as General Manager, having most recently served as the Director of Sales & Marketing in Pittsburgh at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Prior to her tenure in Pittsburgh, Donahoe began her career with Hilton Hotels where she learned to serve others with care and subsequently has held various sales leadership positions at convention centers in Orlando, Tampa, and San Jose. 


After a nationwide search, the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau announced today that Brent DeRaad, current President & CEO of Visit Tucson, has been chosen to lead the city’s destination marketing organization into the next phase of success and growth. He will start his new position on December 6, 2021. DeRaad is replacing Ron Price, who had been President & CEO since 2013. Price resigned in May to head Visit Phoenix in Arizona.
