Special events news this week includes a new v.p. of global sales at AlliedPRA and First Protocol&#39;s acquisition of BKA

Gabrielle Spanton has been promoted to vice president of global sales for AlliedPRA, headquartered in San Diego.

International events agency First Protocol, with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Singapore, has announced the acquisition of Barkley Kalpak Agency, an award-winning creative and experiential agency based in New York. The terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Pittsburgh-based Marbella Event Furniture and Decor Rental has announced its expansion into a new market area, servicing Washington D.C., northern Virginia and the Maryland regions. “Event companies are changing faster than they ever have before, and as a leader in this industry, we are paving the way for not just rentals but trends as well,” said Jason Brown, COO.

Escondido, Calif.-based event management agency GoGather has named Anne-Sophie Michas managing director in Europe, the Middle East and Asia to expand its international events capabilities. She will be based in Rome.

John Johnstone has joined the iconic Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., as vice president of food and beverage.

Michele Stephenson has joined Laguna Niguel, Calif.-based corporate meeting and creative management firm Revolution RFP as global accounts director.

Event production company Sound Mind Events, based in McKinney, Texas, will open an office in Houston.

Toronto-based Hala Events has launched a division offering luxury weddings and other milestone social celebrations.

New York-based TrivWorks, which offers corporate entertainment and team-building, will open an office in Long Beach, Calif.
