Renaissance Resort Offers "Beat the Recession" Deal
The "Beat the Recession" group package offered by the Renaissance Resort at Golf World Village in St. Augustine, Fla., is available for new meetings booked and held by Dec. 31, 2011. The deal includes a rebate of 2 percent of the room revenue back to the group master account; up to five suite upgrades based on availability; five complimentary tickets to the adjacent World Golf Hall of Fame; 5 percent off current banquet menu pricing; 10 percent off of audiovisual pricing; 25 percent allowable slippage on contracted room block; a free guest room for every 35 paid; double Marriott Rewards points; and group golf (16-plus players) at net wholesale rate. The offer is based on availability and is not valid on existing bookings or with any other offers. Also, the offer requires 25 or more rooms per night on a minimum two-night stay; blackout dates may apply. The property offers more than 300 guest rooms and suites and recently remodeled meeting space.
New Event Space Debuts at Westin Peachtree Plaza
Event planners can take advantage of a additional 65,000 square feet of meeting space now available at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta. The new space is accessible through a seventh story bridge connecting the hotel with the 200 Peachtree building. With 80,000 square feet of meeting space in the hotel itself, Westin Peachtree can handle a wide range of functions with facilities and support services including technology, audiovisual, catering and a business center. The hotel's 53 meeting rooms, the largest of which accommodates up to 2,500 attendees, provide flexibility in meeting planning. 200 Peachtree will share catering facilities with the Westin Peachtree, tapping the hotel as a preferred caterer; 200 Peachtree specializes in event space and exhibition space and will soon offer restaurants and retail opportunities, according to management.
Wyndham Orange County Launches Twitter Contest
In celebration of its newly redesigned meetings, event and conference spaces, the Wyndham Orange County in Costa Mesa, Calif., announces the “Make Your Own Meeting” Twitter contest, running Nov. 1-30. The hotel encourages business professionals to tweet about their ideal meeting amenity or themed break in hopes of securing that amenity at their next business meeting held at the hotel. Participants in the “Make Your Own Meeting” Twitter contest are asked to direct each tweet to @WyndhamOC and include the hash tag #MYOM for tracking purposes. The winning entry will be selected by a panel of hotel representatives and notified by direct message within a week of the campaign’s completion. Also, the property is offering a 20 percent discount to any groups that book and hold a meeting before Jan. 31, 2011.
