Mexican straw gift bags greet guests

Upon check-in at the Garza Blanca, guests received colorful hand-woven straw tote bags with custom 'Chloe and Nate' ribbons and small glass hearts attached. The totes each had handmade paper welcome notes, the weekend’s itinerary, local hibiscus water bottles with the couple’s monogram, hand-embroidered beverage napkins, and a paper and fabric hand-made box filled with a ceramic salt shaker and shot glass set, lime-coconut candy, Dulce Vita tequila, and a thank-you note card.

Lobby wedding

Although the bride originally wanted an outdoor wedding, the event team persuaded her that storm season was a threat and so used the lobby as a seating area. Overnight, the night before the wedding, the lobby was transformed into a floral oasis. The large, square, 30-by-30-foot buttressed lobby chandelier was enveloped in white phalaenopsis, peachy-pink roses, and white calla lilies to create a magical floral canopy.

Mahogany chairs line the aisle

The center aisle had a custom-made runner and was lined with large cylinders filled with white calla lilies. Mahogany chairs flanked the center aisle and fans with custom 'Chloe & Nate' ribbons for the guest’s comfort were placed at each chair.

Stunning view

Down the aisle, a gazebo was built for the ceremony to take place. The structure was specifically built to showcase the amazing view of Los Arcos in the background. The top of the gazebo is covered in hundreds of pink and white roses. Pink and white silk drape the sides of the frame.

Cocktail hour switcheroo

The bride and groom shared a first kiss before a tropical storm hit. The event team moved the planned outdoor cocktail reception to the resort's lobby bar. A mariachi band played and 'everybody was merry,' they say. Shuttles ran guests to the family vacation home next door, where a seated dinner would take place inside a tent.

Roses greet guests

As the rain began to subside, guests were walked through the main entrance of the home and over a bridge strewn in white roses, glass hearts and candles overlooking a river’s end into the bay.  A wrought iron doorway gate with white calla lilies woven through let guests know that they had arrived and invited into the hacienda.

White and champagne tent

At the home, a champagne-and-white dinner tent was light and romantic but with the bride's 'modern California style,' the event team says.

Custom table linen

Tables are covered in a soft champagne rosette cloth that was custom made in Guadalajara, with ghost chairs positioned at each place setting.

LEDs plus floral

Floral chandeliers float above, and LED lighting washed the sheer panels in soft pinks.

Three different centerpieces

The dinner tables feature three different centerpiece styles placed throughout in shades of white, cream, light pink and peach.

Pastel de boda

A Latin jazz trio entertained guest, who danced on the white vinyl floor during dinner. After dinner--which included freshly caught local fish--the 'pastel de boda'--or wedding cake--was brought out.  It was a brightly colored vision in buttercream topped with petite calavera catrina bride and groom dolls.

Get ready to dance

After the reception dinner, guests were escorted beachside to lounges and an LED lit dance floor to dance the night away to the James Gang Band flown in from L.A.  Baskets of wedding favor flip-flops and smart fascinator hats were placed throughout the lounges for guests to get comfortable and have fun.

Beautifu palapa

A closer view of the palapa. Setting the scene on the beach were cut-out tin stars strung between uplit palm trees.  'A lighting company hired from, five-hour drive away, Guadalajara did a brilliant job lighting all the statuary, trees, and decor,' the event team says.

Dancing under the fireworks

Midway during the reception dance guests were treated to a fireworks show that lit up the night sky.
