Special events business news

Hot Off the Presses

Bizzabo, the Event Experience Operating System (OS), has acquired Klik, a Montreal-based event tech startup that has pioneered smart wearables technology to power onsite experiences at live events. Its technology helps event leaders elevate and measure attendee engagement, participation, and networking. The acquisition enables Bizzabo to bring new onsite hardware and software expertise in-house as a core product and service. Klik’s wearable tech and extensive infrastructure provides new levels of data visibility at in-person events, giving organizers valuable location-based insights into attendee engagement and behavior that lets them effectively measure success and plan for future events. Because Klik’s wearables also act as a communications device, they can trigger customized recommendations on content, sessions, networking opportunities, sponsors to visit and more.

EventWorks, a full-service event rental company that has been serving the Southeast for more than a decade, has added event rental companies in Atlanta, Birmingham and Nashville under its umbrella, forming the region’s largest event rental provider. Headquartered in Charleston, SC, EventWorks offers clients an extensive line of highly scalable and diverse products with unparalleled service from some of the industry’s most seasoned event professionals. The strategic decision to unify the organization now spans EventWorks locations across five states and seven cities, including Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Savannah, Jacksonville, Birmingham, Atlanta and Nashville. The Charleston-based company merged with Peachtree Tents & Events, Event Rentals Unlimited and Music City Tents in 2017, but the other companies retained their original names and identity until recently.
