Trend Alert: Top Destination Event Excursions

Make your client's destination truly eventful by adding in some exciting local excursions.

Between weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries and other romantic events, destination celebrations offer your clients a wealth of opportunities to take in local culture and activities. In fact, excursions have become a popular choice of entertainment for event hosts and their guests as a chance to get off the beaten path and explore their chosen locale.

Of the trending excursions, these are some of the favorites we have seen as of late:

Sunset Cruises
What better way to enjoy the end of a day (and welcome guests) than on the water? Sunset cruises are the perfect way to take in the beautiful scenery of the destination and celebrate with other guests. While some may be just a simple cruise, others may offer dinner or drinks in the ever-popular “booze cruise” style--the choice will, of course, depend on the couple and their preferences!

Snorkeling
Book your clients and their guests a chance to see a whole other world under the sea! They will love the chance to take in the surrounding marine life. Unlike scuba diving, snorkeling does not require any certifications and comes with no age restrictions, so it is perfect for the whole group.

Guided Tours
Every destination offers a unique culture, and there is no better place to take that in than in the local town or village. From historic sites to nearby museums to ancient ruins, a guided tour will give your clients and their guests the inside scoop that they would not normally get just from walking through themselves.

Nature Walks
Hiking is always a crowd favorite, especially if your clients are planning their trip to an eco-tourism destination such as Costa Rica or Iceland. Between the mountains and the coast, there are plenty of opportunities for the nature lovers in the group.

Alcohol Tastings
Whether it is wine in Rome or tequila in Cancun, going for a drink tasting is always a great experience for groups. Look for a local winery, brewery or distillery for private tastings--better yet, add a tour onto the package for a bit of historical context as well.

Horseback Riding
From sunsets on the beach to trekking through a tropical rainforest, there are just some sites that are best seen from atop a horse. Trail rides are a great option for smaller groups to take in the scenery of the destination, with the help of a four-legged companion.

Of course, the choice of excursion will depend on a number of factors, including client preferences, chosen destination and size of the group. However, any outing is sure to give everyone an experience they will not soon forget!
