Who’s News in Special Events for April 11, 2019

Special events business news this week includes new senior leadership at RMC.

Aspen, Colo.-based RMC has announced the promotions of two senior leaders. Karen (Crawford) Cantrell has been named president of sales, operations and business development, and Sarah Carey will take the role of president of creative and marketing; she will also oversee public relations, human resources and RMC’s new warehouse division.

Woburn, Mass.-based PEAK Event Services announced that it has acquired Boston-based rental company Be Our Guest.

Bill Drew has joined the PRA San Diego as general manger.

Austin, Texas-based Marquee Event Rentals has named Denise Silverman, DMCP, as the company’s director of sales and marketing. She will be responsible for sales team leadership and marketing strategy for Marquee’s Austin and San Antonio offices.

Los Angeles-based Good Gracious! Events has named Cindy Celis its director of business development.

Crown Point Enterprises, operating as All Occasions Party Rental and Marbella Event Furniture and Decor Rental, with locations in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, has acquired the assets of Be Seated in Akron, Ohio.

The Wedding Guys, headquartered in Minneapolis, has named Ellaina Henke general manager.

Monroe Jost, founder of Irving, Texas-based J&S Audio Visual, has died. The company has multi-year contracts in place with more than 84 hotels and convention centers in addition to regular business representing more than 2,500 annual events and productions, 500 venue locations and 650 clients, the company says.
