Special events news today includes a new marketing director for 360 Destination Group and continued growth for CE Rental.

Big Irvine, Calif.-based DMC 360 Destination Group, included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs,” has hired Jennifer Carlisle as its new director of marketing. She will be based in Chicago.

Los Angeles’ iconic Grand Central Market food hall has announced the appointment of Erin Mavian as creative director. Her role will include overseeing branding and marketing, furthering programming and special events, coordinating social media, and instituting pop-up experiences.

Raleigh, N.C.-based CE Rental, included on the latest Special Events “30 Top Rental Companies,” has announced the recapitalization of EventHaus Rentals in Charleston, S.C., serving the Charleston, Savannah, Ga., and Hilton Head, S.C., markets. “We are enthusiastic about the addition of EventHaus to the CE Rental family,” said CE CEO Bob Marshall. “Their reputation for providing unmatched customer service in the Charleston area is a reflection of their entire team’s dedication to delivering the highest quality rental inventory to every event." He added, "Geographically, EventHaus is strategically located to partner with our existing event rental locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, including Skyline Tent Co. in the Charleston market.”

Popular linen specialist Susan Kirkpatrick Abe has died. She served with the teams at Cloth Connection and BBJ Linen for more than 20 years before opening her own consulting and couture rental company, Art of the Table, this year.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., has promoted Luciano Sperduto to director of food and beverage.

Big contract feeder Centerplate, headquartered in Stamford, Conn., announced that it has signed a contract extension with the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The new four-year contract includes two options to extend--first for four years and again for an additional three years.

Vancouver, Wash.-based Hubb, a developer of event management technology, announced that Marty Choate joins the company as vice president of enterprise solutions.
