Special events business news this week includes the launch of the #MeetWithConfidence initiative to get the event and meetings industry back in business.

The Nashville [Tenn.] Convention and Visitors Corp. has announced the addition of Jennifer Sullivan to the sales team as director of its mid-Atlantic regional office. She will serve as an in-market rep for Washington-based clients interested in booking Nashville as a convention destination.

Big DMC group Hosts Global, headquartered in Las Vegas, has announced the launch of the #MeetWithConfidence initiative. Plans include a speaker series with industry leaders from MGM Resorts Productions, NACE and various venues, along with the development of checklists and other resources to help the event and meeting industry get back in business. ADMEI has announced the launch of the Carol Norfleet Continuing Education Scholarship in honor of the late destination executive and teacher, who stressed professional certification in the industry. This scholarship award will provide support toward a candidate's pursuit of ADMEI’s DMCP credential, as well as CMP, CMM and CSEP.
