CORT Shares Three Themes for Winter Event Design

Lean into the winter season with luxe, minimalist and retro trends.

    Kevin Dana | Nov 29, 2018

Hot summer trends are blending into cool events for fall and winter. Be more than subtle with your themed decor, and choose from over-the-top trends for events this season. Lavish your guests in the decadence of art deco, stay cool, and mix minimalistic styles when rustic meets industrial, and shimmy away from the ’70s of summer to bring in ’80s decor.

    ART DECO
Channel the energy of the 1930s and create an event that’s dripping with metallics by utilizing pieces that glint and sparkle, like the Alondra Cocktail Table. Create lush, luxe event designs that are dramatic in color. Deep jeweled blues, greens and reds pair nicely with metallics, and geometric patterns lend a feeling of luxury and sophistication. The art deco trend reminds attendees of the Golden Age and creates a whimsical escape, so don’t be afraid to make your space feel like a party.

Make the details count with gorgeous, customizable Maxim Bars that can add to the feel of the event while promoting your client’s brand. Faux fur represents sophisticated luxury and adds an eccentric elegance to any gathering. Dress up a classic Wilshire Sofa with fun, furry Garbo Stools. Cozy up on faux fur rugs and pair with metallic accents to create an ambiance with a warm glow, that feels refined and expensive.

    RUSTIC MEETS INDUSTRIAL
For clients who want to keep it simple, mix rustic with industrial to create an aesthetic that is modern yet accessible. Refine the outdoorsy energy of rustic decor for a more eclectic look that is comfortable and inviting for guests, while still feeling modern and updated. The Rustique collection blends wood and metal in furniture seamlessly to transform a simple event space.

Wood laminates are also a clever way to incorporate the rustic feel into your design plan. Boxwood Hedges feel playful and the Lexington Table blends old and new with a wood top, black metal legs and USB outlets so your event attendees can stay connected. Keep sightlines clean and create points of visual interest with pops of color that accentuate your client’s brand. Make the space feel simple, but still chic and curated.

    AN HOMAGE TO THE ’80s
Bring back the ’70s and ’80s with CORT.

The 1980s are making a comeback. The pops of color and patterns are transitioning the ’70s trends of the summer into the ’80s trends of the winter. Freshen up your space with iconic shag rugs and color palettes that feel retro and radical. Warm metallics such as gold, bronze and rose gold will pop with the fun and funky patterns and bright colors emblematic of this decade. The Endless Collection provides the perfect, simple canvas to bring in exciting ’80s elements to your design plan.

For events that demand simplicity and straightforward design, rely on what works for the winter season year after year. Deep reds, warm yellows and bright oranges will always feel like fall and winter and are complemented by classic mid-century modern pieces that are timelessly cool. CORT Events offers seasonal colors and textures, such as velvet, on some of its most popular ottomans such as Beverly Bench Ottomans, Vibe Cube seating, and Marche Swivel Ottomans. Mix in these exciting trends where it feels right for your brand and stay true to that seasonal feeling for a successful event.
