MAD HOT BALLET: The Return of a Beloved Gala

After taking a pandemic hiatus, the fundraiser for The National Ballet of Canada returns with vigor.

The annual MAD HOT BALLET, a fundraising gala for The National Ballet of Canada, was held this past June with the theme “Deco-Danse,” a nod to the 1920s. It was the first time the event has been held since 2019. Presented by CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce), the gala was well attended (2,000 attendees) and raised over $1 million for The National Ballet of Canada.

The event was held at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto and featured an hour-long performance by some of the dancers, as well as a cocktail reception and a VIP gala dinner of 578 guests held onstage. The evening concluded with a night of dancing among the National Ballet artists.

A few highlights include: vibrantly colored tablescapes; a photo station; and food stations by several caterers, including Rosalinda, All the Graze, and 10tation.

The gala was co-chaired by Sonja Berman, Cleophee Eaton and Candice Sinclair. Next year’s MAD HOT BALLET will take place on June 11, 2024.
