Live Events Coalition Calls for Social Media Campaign on July 29

Event pros are called to join in a social media campaign July 29 to save the industry.

In order to draw attention to the importance and the plight of the live events industry in the U.S., the Live Events Coalition is calling on event industry pros to join in a social media posting campaign tomorrow, July 29.

The Washington-based group has two goals: to leverage the event community to support event professionals, and to highlight the catastrophic impact of COVID on the industry and ensure it is included in federal relief packages.a

The “What We Miss” social media activation calls on industry pros to share a two-image post designed to call attention to the industry’s need for support as part of the next federal stimulus package. By encouraging industry professionals to all post on one day, “We will raise awareness and amplify our message to key constituencies and lawmakers,” the coalition said in statement.

The two images show what the public misses about live events and what the producers of those events miss. The coalition offers a free tool kit, including a selection of downloadable photos with suggested taglines already created, along with a set of style guidelines.
