Hot off the Press

National Structures Events and Services, a full-service tenting and structures rental solutions company, has recently launched Structure Depot, a new service offering other event rental companies the ability through sub-contracting to easily expand their tenting, structure, and flooring capabilities. With over 3 million square feet of inventory available, in sizes ranging from three- to 50-meter tents. Structures Depot gives other event rental businesses across the nation access to this inventory, allowing them to test the structure market or go after projects they may have walked away from in the past without the capital investment, ultimately increasing net profits.

On Thursday, July 13, 2023, iconic award-winning journalist, health advocate, philanthropist and East Hampton resident Katie Couric captivated an audience of over 200 guests at the annual East Hampton Emergency Department fundraiser luncheon, held at the picturesque Maidstone Club. Following the talk, a delicious lunch was served, and guests stayed on to enjoy the ocean views and to mingle with friends. Guests were also treated to gift bags containing products from Bobbi Brown’s Jones Road Beauty and Cindy Crawford’s Meaningful Beauty lines. The annual benefit raises money to support the new Stony Brook Medicine East Hampton Emergency Department, currently in construction. Doors to the new facility are scheduled to open Fall 2024. This year’s luncheon, organized by the Southampton Hospital Foundation, was the most successful and highly attended one to date.

In Memoriam

It is with sadness that we report that former ILEA president (1997-1998) Tim Lundy, CSEP, recently passed away. Tim has been a leader and mentor in the event industry for several decades, where he combined culinary planning with event design as the Chef and Owner of Distinctive Design & Events. From producing award-winning events around the globe to authoring a book to speaking at industry conferences, he was known as a positive and compassionate force in the industry. Read the tribute from former ILEA president Joe Goldblatt here
