Venue News

The MOTO Museum, which houses a collection of rare, vintage motorcycles, has recently renovated The Smith, an event venue space inside that holds 450 people seated or 1,000 standing in a 7,500 square-foot primary event space, and is an eccentric backdrop for one-of-a-kind parties, showers, corporate events, and weddings. The venue space has interchangeable walls with the option of light paneling or dark wood, chandeliers, a garage door, and wedding-specific motorcycles couples can ride in on and/or use for guest photo ops.

The Kinney SLO has completed a long-awaited transformation to become The Wayfarer San Luis Obispo. The second Wayfarer hotel concept to date (the first opened in DTLA in 2020), The Wayfarer SLO invites guests to experience its refreshed guestrooms and newly rebranded restaurant and bar, Schoolyard Burgers & Brew. Tapping into the classic college experience, property highlights include: 100 boutique, Cal Poly-inspired rooms tap into the nostalgia of college days; eatery Schoolyard, which offers an elevated twist on pub-style classics from smash burgers to boozy milkshakes and hyper-local beers on tap; a year-round heated pool, fitness center with Peleton bikes, outdoor patio with firepits, classic games from shuffleboard to Scrabble and Skee-Ball, and weekly happenings like Trivia Nights; and 2,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, the hotel’s two event venues include The Library, accommodating up to 100 guests, and The Gallery, which accommodates up to 60 guests and can be expanded to invite the California sunshine in with an adjoining private patio.

Instawork, the leading flexible staffing solution for local, hourly professionals, released a State of Hospitality Staffing Report.
