Who’s News in Special Events for Jan. 18, 2018

Special events business news this week includes a new creative director at Live Marketing and two new staffers at Modern Event Furniture.

Chicago-based Live Marketing, included on the latest Special Events "50 Top Event Companies," has added agency veteran Tim Sheridan as creative director and senior writer.

Renee Morrow has joined Modern Event Furniture as an account executive for business development, and Luisa Thobaben has been named social media manager for the company.

Veteran wedding and event planner Janice Blackmon has joined Atlanta-based EventScapes.

Terramar, a DMC Network Co. with offices in Los Cabos and Cancun, Mexico, and Panama, has announced the acquisition of Cappa and Graham, located in San Francisco. Cappa and Graham specializes in full-service event planning, destination management and meeting services throughout the Bay Area, including Napa, Sonoma, Monterey and Sacramento. Terramar is included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs.

Society for Incentive Travel Excellence announced that Didier Scaillet has been appointed new chief excellence officer, serving both SITE and the SITE Foundation.

Minneapolis-based Teneo Hospitality Group, which represents independent and luxury branded hotels, resorts and DMCs, has named hotel sales executive Rene McCoy as director of sales for the mid-Atlantic region.

Phoenix-based Pro Em Party and Event Rentals, included on the latest Special Events "30 Top Rental Companies," announced it has signed a global sponsorship agreement with Katie Burnett, an LPGA Tour professional. As part of the agreement with Pro Em, Burnett will wear the company’s logo on her left sleeve during all golf-related appearances.
