Special events business news this week includes a new editorial specialist at OFD Consulting.

Megan Acosta has joined wedding publicity agency OFD Consulting in Richmond, Va., as an editorial specialist.

Brand activation agency Noise Inc., based in Sanibel, Fla., has promoted Brandon Sherwood to assistant vice president and interactive director.

Big event rental company Party Reflections, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., has announced its expansion in both the Charlotte and Triad region, including the acquisition of larger, improved buildings in both locations. The new address for Charlotte is 2750 Whitehall Park Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28273; the new address in Greensboro is 308 Friendship Drive, Greensboro, N.C. 27409.

Andy Donner has been named chief commercial officer of San Francisco-based Mixhalo, which delivers real-time audio to attendees’ phones and headphones at venues and events. He will oversee sales, business development and corporate strategy.

Fort Worth, Texas-based event production and experiential marketing agency Encore Live has launched an all-inclusive virtual fundraising service to help nonprofits replace fundraising galas. The package includes the facilitation of high-quality video conferencing between participants’ homes, along with hiring surprise celebrity entertainment and delivery of meals, drinks, centerpieces, linens and other accessories.

New York-based Meet Virtually, a full-service virtual travel, meetings and events agency, has announced the launch of a global platform showcasing virtual experiences from around the world. Through this platform, the team is able to offer a suite of virtual engagement options to enhance virtual meetings and events, the company says.

Los Angeles-based Total Brand Experience will launch a virtual talent competition tomorrow, awarding a $1,000 prize to the winner. “We have so many colleagues whom we have worked with over the years that have served the industry as talent and entertainment--and who aren’t working now,” said TBX CEO Margaret Launzel-Pennes. "Our first thought was to give them a platform to showcase their talent to the industry at large. The more we got into it and thought about how many event industry professionals there are that have some amazing talent, the more sense it made to open it up to all.” One-minute videos can be submitted from May 15 to May 29, with final judging in early July.
