Who’s News in Special Events for Nov. 15, 2018

Special events news this week includes new execs at Cogs and Marvel and a brand refresh for Signature Party Rentals.

Cogs and Marvel, a brand experience agency with offices in Dublin and San Francisco, welcomes creative director Jamie Shaw as leader of its creative department in the U.S. and Brendan Keenan as director of business development and marketing.

Big party rental company Signature Party Rentals, based in Santa Ana, Calif., has launched a rebrand that includes an updated logo, refreshed design palette, and intuitive website. New uniforms, uniforms, truck wraps and signage will also be unveiled. Signature is included on the latest Special Events “30 Top Rental Companies.”

Event services company GES, based in Las Vegas, has named Ben Olson as vice president of experiential engagement, Ann Marie Burke as director of experiential engagement, and Arjun Chakravarti as senior vice president of analytics and insights solutions.

Stephen Hahn will join the team at New Orleans and Co. as senior vice president of convention sales and strategies.

The Conrad Dublin has announced the appointments of Gabriela Gómez Quintana as executive head chef and Bartosz Szynaka as sous chef at the luxury Ireland hotel.

Event agency FIRST, headquartered in New York, announced that it has been appointed by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication to produce conference elements for Sibos 2019 in London, Sibos 2020 in Boston and Sibos 2021 in Singapore. As SWIFT’s flagship event, Sibos attracts more than 8,000 business leaders, decision-makers and topic experts annually and serves as the financial services industry’s leading conference, exhibition and networking event. FIRST is included on the latest Special Events “50 Top Event Companies.”

The Foundation of NACE and the San Diego NACE Chapter will host their first fundraising event of the year at The Special Event 2019. The event will take place Jan. 6 from 7- 10 p.m. at the Music Box in San Diego. Click here for more information.

Association management company Smith Bucklin, with offices in Chicago and Washington, has acquired experience agency 360 Live Media. 360 will continue to operate out of its Washington office.
