Who’s News in Special Events for Nov. 30, 2017

Special events business news this week includes a new CEO at ExCel London.

Jeremy Rees has been named acting CEO at ExCel London. He formerly served as executive director of exhibitions.

Event industry leaders will be in Chicago Saturday for the FAST Gala, aimed at finding a cure for Angelman syndrome, a malady affecting Grace Schlueter. She is the daughter of event industry veteran John Schlueter, formerly of Karl’s Event Rental. Celebrities Colin Farrell, Christina Applegate, Jai Courtney, Taylor Lautner and Retta will also be in attendance at this event, along with George Smith of Mahaffey Tent and Event Rentals, Fred Tracy of Fred’s Tents, Alain Perez of Eventstar, Dave Tannenbaum of New York Tent, and Gary and Val Braun of Arena Americas.
