Hospitality veterans Ted Knighton and Sofie Vasquez have been appointed General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing at Thompson San Antonio.  

The new 162-room hotel is scheduled to open in early 2021 on San Antonio’s celebrated River Walk. Both executives are experienced hospitality professionals who will lead hotel operations and strategic sales and marketing initiatives to introduce the Thompson experience to a dynamic new market, while also establishing Thompson San Antonio as a sophisticated new destination for stylish accommodations, dining, socializing and events in the River City.

The RK Group has completed redevelopment of its newest venue, the Red Berry Estate.  

The 80-plus-acre Red Berry estate and its 70-year-old mansion on the East Side have been transformed into a mixed-use meeting, event and residential destination. 


AI design company Waltz Binaire will be launching Journee, its cutting edge technology that reconnects humans in new virtual spaces, at The Great Wave event next week. Check out a preview here

Scheduled for October 16-19, 2020, The Great Wave will take place virtually and safely in-person, stretching across media and time zones in more than 30 local hubs in cities worldwide. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with each other through various mediums and locations at an unprecedented, global scale. Journee’s technology creates 3D photorealistic experiences and social media interaction directly from the browser. Conventional user devices are often limited in their ability to display high-end 3d environments, which is why Journee stores and recreates the virtual world for guests directly in the cloud.  Loews Hotels & Co announces the appointment of Patrick Barrett, general manager, Loews New Orleans Hotel, Younes Atallah, general manager, Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, and Reggie Dominique, managing director, Loews Hollywood Hotel.
