JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa is currently unveiling a multi-million dollar redesign, delivering a new level of luxury in the desert, transforming into a modern oasis, steeped with desert-inspired elements. Located in Palm Desert, the resort is set on 450 acres of vibrant desert gardens, breathtaking mountain views and signature lakes. This reinvention also includes the debut of The Sinatra Ballroom, the largest indoor event space in the Greater Palm Springs area at 25,000 sq. ft. 


Odyssey Resorts announced today the company will manage the Lutsen Sea Villas, a collection of more than 50 one and two-story townhomes located a few steps from the waters of Lake Superior. With the announcement, Odyssey Resorts now operates a portfolio of seven premier resorts along the North Shore. Guests can now book reservations for stays beginning Nov. 15, 2021.   


The historic La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates, California officially reopens under the leadership of its new operator, Megan Walker, CEO and Executive Chef of Southern California’s esteemed catering company, Made by Meg. As operator, Walker has led the revitalization and interior refresh of the beloved property, as well as established Made By Meg as the exclusive caterer at La Venta Inn. With the goal of revitalizing  La Venta Inn’s classic beauty, all while accommodating popular preferences for modern weddings and events, Walker tapped local interior designer, Dannielle Albrecht of Dannielle Albrecht Designs, to create the property’s luxurious, yet understated, new interior design. As the 98-year-old property begins its next chapter, Walker intends to continue La Venta’s legacy of hosting idyllic seaside nuptials and events, with exquisite custom catering, for generations to come.

Greater Women’s Business Council (GWBC), a leading organization that enhances the competitive value of women business enterprises, announced that The Special Event Company has been named a nominee for the 2021 Pivot Award. The Company was selected as a nominee after submitting a video of CEO, Sally Webb, CSEP, explaining how the company incorporated innovative ways to sustain the business by adding a new virtual communications service to their event offerings.
