Special events business news this week includes a new event director in L.A. for Bright Event Rentals.

Walter Borchert has joined the Los Angeles office of big event rental firm Bright Event Rentals, headquartered in Los Angeles, as an event director.

DMC Network, included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs,” has announced that Inspire Me Monte Carlo has joined the network.

Atlanta-based caterer Affairs to Remember announced this week that it has donated and sponsored more than $3 million in catering and event design services to local nonprofit organizations through its Legacy Giving program. Now in its 10th year, the Legacy Giving program was created in 2008 as a way for Affairs to Remember to give back to the community that it has now served for more than 40 years, the company said.

DMC group AlliedPRA has announced that it will rebrand to PRA. The company got its start in San Diego in 1981 as Patti Roscoe and Associates, which blossomed into the PRA Destination Management franchise system. In 2007, Roscoe sold her firm to Allied International.

Louis Gonzalez has been promoted to director of group sales at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

Los Angeles-based Future Beat, which provides VIP experiences for concerts and other events, has been sold to New York-based On Location Events, the official hospitality partner of the National Football League. Terms were not disclosed. Law firm O’Melveny advised Future Beat on the sale.

Nashelly Tapia has been named director of sales and marketing for the hotel Melia Nassau Beach, Bahamas.

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville [Fla.] Riverfront hotel welcomes two new members to the sales team: Josh Hoce as associate director of sales and Laura Gonzalez Pena as the meeting connections/business travel sales manager.

Belinda Daniel Named as director of sales for Dallas Marriott Las Colinas.
