Fairmont Washington D.C. Refurbishes Meeting Space
The 415-room Fairmont Washington D.C. has completed a $2.6 million refurbishment of 24,000 square feet of its function space, encompassing its ballroom-level meeting and pre-function space, the mezzanine level and the third-floor meeting space. The renovations, which were completed Jan. 20, underscore Fairmont's commitment to the environment with features such as Green Label-approved carpeting and low VOC wall coverings and paints. The ballroom's pre-function space now includes a feature wall that reflects light and texture while depicting cherry blossoms, which are found in the hotel's courtyard and throughout the city. The chandeliers in the 5,460-square-foot ballroom, which suits groups from 30 to 700 guests, now feature crystal beads that are reflected in the beveled glass mirrors.
