News this week includes a new executive director of sales at the famed Fontainebleau, and it's crunch time to submit speaker proposals for The Special Event 2019.

Kevin Bryant has been named executive director of sales at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

San Antonio-based destination management and event production company Capers announced that it has acquired Clink, a destination management and event production company based in Austin, Texas. The terms of the acquisition are private; however, Clink will retain its brand.

Last call for speaker proposals at The Special Event 2019: Tomorrow, June 1, is the deadline to submit your proposal to speak at TSE 2019, which runs Jan. 8-10 in San Diego. Speakers can participate in nine education tracks: Business and Professional Development, Design, Event Management, Event Technology, C-Level Executives, Catering, Sales and Marketing, Wedding Trends, and Event Safety. Centerplate, based in Stamford, Conn., has announced a 10-year contract extension for client Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. Besides serving as the home for the Miami Dolphins football team, the 65,000-seat venue hosts events year-round, including the University of Miami football games, international soccer and other world-class events.
