Special events business news this week includes a promotion for Melissa Johnson of Cameron Mitchell.

Melissa Johnson has been promoted to vice president of Cameron Mitchell Premier Events and community relations for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, both headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

San Diego-based ACCESS, included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs,” has announced the promotion of Tatiana Lotufo to vice president of sales. She will lead regional sales teams in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, northern California, Phoenix/Scottsdale and San Diego.

CSI DMC, included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs,” welcomes Karin Gillard as senior account executive in its Las Vegas office. Before joining CSI DMC, she was director of catering sales at Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas.

Julie Coker, CEO of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, has been hired to lead the San Diego Tourism Authority. She replaces replacing longtime CEO Joe Terzi, who announced his retirement last year.

Secaucus, N.J.-based Rose Brand has expanded its curtain manufacturing capabilities with the acquisition of Decorative Novelty, formerly located in Brooklyn, N.Y.
