Special events business news this week includes a new COO for Great Performances and a new tent company acquisition for Peak.

New York-based caterer Great Performances has appointed Jonathan M. Cetnarski to the new position of chief operating officer.

Big DMC group PRA, based in Chicago and included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs,” has now opened PRA Louisville in Louisville, Ky.

Boston-based Peak Event Services, included on the latest Special Events “30 Top Rental Companies,” has announced that it has acquired Newport Tent Co. of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. As a division of Peak, Newport Tent clients will now have direct access to more expansive tent rental options and the region’s largest selection of tables, chairs, specialty linens, china and furniture, Peak said in a statement.

Jill Spear has been named sales and creative director for North Miami, Fla.-based Eggwhites Special Event Catering.

David Callaghan, former senior vice president EMEA of technology giant Oracle, has joined London-based Upstage Creative as board advisor, charged with supporting business development in the agency’s expanding tech-sector client base.

Stephanie Klett has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Visit Lake Geneva (Wisc.).

Big party rental company All Occasions Party Rental, headquartered in Eighty Four, Pa., has opened a new operation in Columbus, Ohio, located at 147 N. High St.

Harlequin Arena Group in Dubai has been rebranded as Arena Middle East and Asia.

Chicago-based Kehoe Designs has announced the rebrand of its technical productions team to BlackOak Technical Productions, headed by managing director Adam McCarthy.

Las Vegas-based GES has promoted Jason Popp to president of GES EMEA. 

Whitinsville, Mass.-based Access TCA has announced that Bill Smith has been promoted to executive creative director.
