Best Event Produced For A Nonprofit Organization

Bravo Productions Long Beach, California Bravo staged the weeklong grand opening events for Southern California's latest attraction, the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Events included the public opening ceremony and membership preview, the official dedication and the inaugural gala. Bravo was challenged with designing the event while the facility was under construction: Exhibits had not been installed, and an 85-foot-long blue whale had not yet been suspended from the ceiling.

Empire Force Events New York New York's Central Park was the setting for "Hong Kong Tai Chi in the Park," an event honoring the ancient Chinese exercise art. Empire Force produced staging, signage, display and media presentations that joined the tranquillity of the natural surroundings with the energy of New York City. The event brought together New York's tai chi practitioners with Hong Kong's master instructors in one of the largest synchronized tai chi movements ever recorded.

Clare Sullivan & Associates Houston More than 800 guests filled Houston's Wortham Center, Sesquicentennial Park and Fish Plaza for "Urban Campout," an annual Girl Scout fund-raising event. The urban venues replicated each of the Girl Scout Council's eight camps. Event-goers earned badges as they participated in activities and crafts. The entertainment also included a silent auction, campfire songs and storytelling, and a pyrotechnics presentation.
