Good Gracious goes Global Following on the heels of news last month that Spanish event powerhouse Global Events acquired New York-based Paint the Town Red, U.K.-based caterer/event producer Global Infusion Group announced June 20 that it is partnering with Los Angeles caterer Good Gracious. Global Infusion, included on the Special Events list of "25 Great, Big Caterers," will work with Good Gracious throughout the U.S. to offer hospitality catering, special event capabilities, and festival/tour meals …

MPI names new leaders Dallas-based MPI announced yesterday that Larry Luteran, vice president of group sales and industry relations for Hilton Hotels Corp., will assume the role as the 2008-2009 chair of the MPI Board of Directors. Rita Plaskett, CMP, CMM, and president of ASSET, will lead the 2008-2009 MPI Foundation Board of Trustees. “Larry and Rita bring an incredible wealth of industry experience and MPI community service to their leadership roles," said MPI President and CEO Bruce MacMillan. "I personally thank them for their energy and commitment, and look forward to a year of partnership as we work together to build even greater success for our members."
