MPI extends discount deadline for WEC MPI announced yesterday that planners now have until July 6 to get the special discount rate at the World Education Conference, July 28-31 in Montreal. (The original deadline was June 22.) The savings is $200 (U.S.). For more information, click here.

Airline agony Air travel this summer has so far lived up to the glum predictions made earlier in the year. The number of flights canceled in the first 15 days of June was up a mammoth 91 percent compared with the same period last year, the Wall Street Journal said yesterday. To cope, savvy travelers will fly early in the day to avoid afternoon storms; avoid tight connections; carry food and water onboard just in case; and sign up for e-mail flight status alerts from their airline.
