NAVIGANT MEETING Services, a division of the Denver-based travel services company Navigant International, and Cornerstone Enterprises, a subsidiary of Navigant specializing in corporate events, have been integrated to form Navigant Performance Group. The new company will offer a full range of meeting and event services including site selection, airfare negotiation, event theme design and custom promotional campaigns, company officials reported.
According to Cornerstone founder and NPG president Jonanthan Danforth, the integration was prompted by Navigant International's desire to create “standard operating procedures that would allow it to provide single-source, comprehensive solutions to clients.”
Operating with a staff of 125 through full-service offices in Santa Clara, Calif., Minneapolis, Chicago, Stamford, Conn., and Boston, as well as 12 regional sales offices across the country, NPG is targeting financial services, technology and pharmaceutical companies, among others, Danforth said. “We work with Fortune 100, Fortune 500 and smaller companies,” he explained. “Our niche is the middle market. We're not going after the mega of mega events.”
Danforth cited technology services as one of the company's core competencies. “Technology and the use thereof is very, very prominent, especially when you're competing with the big guys,” he said. To enhance its technology services, NPG has partnered with a Santa Clara-based software manufacturer to offer clients Web portals, promotional campaigns over the Web, online registration and other services.
Danforth said NPG's ultimate goal is “to have a very consultative, strategic relationship” with the corporations the company serves. “We can walk in and talk about everything from meeting consolidation to how to do a special event to whom we want to motivate in [the client's] organization.”
