Universal Orlando announced yesterday that it will open an event sales office in New York in January to bring its event-sales operation closer to one of the largest client bases in the country. Jennifer Jacobson, a 14-year veteran of Universal Orlando’s meeting sales department, will staff the office.
The move will allow Universal to more quickly respond to client’s needs, providing a local source for meeting planners from New York City and the New York region who are considering Orlando meetings and who want to create events at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios theme parks or the Universal CityWalk entertainment complex, the company said.
“With today’s business climate and short term booking cycles, we understand the need to respond quickly and personally to the needs of our clients,” said Paul Rothenberg, Universal Orlando vice president of event sales.
The New York office will be located in Manhattan.
