Who's News in Special Events for Oct. 3, 2019

Special events business news this week includes a new sales rep at Destination Concepts and a new company joining DMC Network.

Heather Matusiak, DMCP, has rejoined the sales team of San Diego-based Destination Concepts—included on the latest Special Events "25 Top DMCs"—as senior account executive.

Addison, Texas-based DMC Network, included on the latest Special Events “25 Top DMCs,” has announced that Event Experience has joined the network as an affiliate partner. Event Experience is a Seattle-based DMC and event production company with a recording and editing studio, an audiovisual department, logistical resources, and creative planning teams. 

Eighty Four, Pa.-based Crown Point Enterprises, owner of All Occasions Party Rental and Marbella Event Furniture and Decor Rental, has announced the launch of partner company Lendable Linens, located in Pittsburgh.

Dallas-based Freeman, included on the latest Special Events “50 Top Event Companies” list, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Convention Data Services (CDS), an event registration, business intelligence, and lead management company servicing show organizers worldwide. 

Los Angeles-based AEG Facilities, the venue management affiliate of Anschutz Entertainment Group, and venue management company SMG, headquartered in West Conshohocken, Pa., announced they have combined to create a new, standalone global facility management and venue services company, ASM Global. Bob Newman, former president of AEG Facilities, has been named president and CEO of ASM; Wes Westley, former CEO and president of SMG, will focus his efforts on key strategic growth initiatives and ensuring a seamless integration.

ON Services, a division of Las Vegas-based GES that provides audiovisual support for live event productions, has announced that Craig Pemberton has been named national sales manager for corporate business and Matt McGraw as account manager for corporate trade show accounts.
